The DANUBE INSTITUTE cordially invites you to a LECTURE BY ROGER SCRUTON:

EUROPE AND THE CONSERVATIVE CAUSE

19th September, 2016

His lecture on the future of conservatism will take place at 5.30 P.M. on 19TH SEPTEMBER at the CENTRE FOR HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (1014 BUDAPEST, ORSZÁGHÁZ U. 30.).

Professor FERENC HÖRCHER, Director, Institute of Philosophy, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor of Aesthetics at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, and a specialist of the political philosophy of British conservatism will respond to Sir Roger's lecture, after which there will be time for questions. The event will close with a reception.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, please register here.

In his lecture, Sir Roger will seek answers to questions which are fundamental not merely to the survival of conservatism, but to civilised society:

What is there left of conservatism in a society of material abundance and instant communication, when human relations are fluid, global and without respect for the old boundaries and the old hesitations? Can we find our way back to the spirit of our civilisation, and if not, does it matter?

The lecture is being organised in conjunction with the PÁZMÁNY PÉTER CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY and the INSTITUTE OF PHILOSOPHY, NATIONAL ACADEMY OF
SCIENCES.

Places at the lecture are strictly limited, and priority will be given to early applicants.
